A membership that changes with the seasons. Joining gives you access to an uninterrupted series of live transmissions — it opens the window for you to spend weekends with artists and days in places.
The Lighthouse
Oda's brain. It lights up when Oda is live, and relays sound from our servers to your speakers, connecting you directly to artists and places around the world.
The Speakers
Two wooden squares. Open portals into the living rooms of musicians and artists, and into sonic landscapes around the world. Built like instruments, they create a deeply immersive experience of live music and sound.
  • ...a crisp, realistic sound energy that mimics a live performance, right down to the slight imperfections of the instruments...

Felt like a prayer I didn’t even know I had been praying for was granted.

A Physical Sound
This is the heart of it: the soundboard.
We've spent three years tuning this piece of wood
Resonant
Music radiates from a resonant wood panel, just like the body of a cello. Cascading sound like the light from a chandelier.
Physical
You can almost touch the sound. Stereoscopic vocals, piano, strings and brass with uncanny presence, clarity and warmth.
Dimensional
A sound that’s dimensional. A sound that makes it feel like the artist is just inches away from you.
The shift in quality and texture in the audio was notable [...] it sounded like Laraaji was actually in the room
The Quietus
...a crisp, realistic sound energy that mimics a live performance, right down to the slight imperfections of the instruments...
Billboard
...disturbingly intimate…

Built Like an Instrument
Oda's Secret to Unique and Beautiful Sound
Oda Speakers are built using techniques drawn from traditional crafts like bookbinding, light aircraft construction, and, of course, luthiery.
They’re made of wood, glass, cotton, and steel: materials that are humble and human, not technological.
Simply put: They're built like instruments, so they make instruments sound beautiful.
Painstakingly Tuned
Perry in his workshop
The Intuition of an Artist
Oda’s designer, Perry Brandston, grew up in New York institutions like CBGB and Carnegie Hall. He has been making speakers most of his life. Conceived and designed in the East Village of Manhattan, we have been perfecting these speakers since 2016.
Ben in the anechoic chamber at University of Dresden
Transformed by a Leading Acoustician
Benjamin Zenker of the University of Dresden, a world-leading acoustician, transformed the speakers into something worthy of our mission; music that is live for the artist and for you. His design rejects heavy audio filters and brings listeners an honest experience.
A Sustainable Platform
We're working to create a platform that's sustainable. That's a viable long-term business for us, and for the artists you love.
We sell our speakers at a very low markup. Most of our income comes from our $79/season membership, and over 70% of that income goes directly to pay artists and production costs.
We are completely membership supported. We don't sell ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't spy on you.
We Made Oda Because We Love Music More Than Anything Else In The World
The Oda offices
We really do. Most of us have spent our professional lives working with artists and sound. Live music is a vital part of our lives, and we want it to be a vital part of yours. We believe all of us should be doing our part to preserve the cultural value of music.
